Soluble BOD and Soluble COD reduction by SKILLICORN Technologies
How Soluble BOD and Soluble COD reduction creates synergies and adds value to advanced, innovative wastewater treatment
Existing wastewater treatment systems, notably those involving activated sludge or some form of wetland treatment, are notorious for their inability to break down recalcitrant soluble BOD and COD. This can degrade performance and require premature and very expensive system upgrades.
STL’s preferred approach to reducing recalcitrant (soluble) BOD and COD involves a site-specific combination of hydrodynamic cavitation and the STL’s proprietary carbon-donor biofilm soluble BOD/COD reactor array. Addition (or retrofit) of a(n) STL reactor array to an existing wastewater treatment plant can have the effect of moving from tertiary to quaternary treatment efficiency, and perhaps obviating the need to make expensive upgrades in order to meet tightening regulatory standards and/or deal with the growing wastewater product of an expanding population base.
